Facility management typically covers two major categories: hard services and soft services.
Hard services relate to the physical structure of a building. These include HVAC systems, electrical networks, plumbing, fire safety systems, elevators, structural maintenance, and energy management. The goal is to maintain the integrity, safety, and performance of the built environment.
Soft services focus on the daily support activities that enhance comfort and usability. These include cleaning, landscaping, waste management, security, reception, catering, and workspace management. Soft services help create a functional and pleasant environment for employees, visitors, and residents.
